TO: Senator Boxer, Senator Feinstein
From: David Landriscina
Date: August 3, 2010
Among the most important votes a United States Senator can cast is that for or against a nominee to the U.S. Supreme Court.
As an NRA Member and staunch supporter of the Second Amendment, I urge you to oppose Elena Kagan's confirmation to the Supreme Court. I would further encourage you to lead or support a filibuster against her nomination.
Throughout her political career, Ms. Kagan has clearly demonstrated her
hostility toward the Second Amendment rights of law-abiding Americans. The critical Heller and McDonald decisions — which affirmed that the Second Amendment guarantees a fundamental, individual right to keep and bear arms for all Americans — each prevailed by a narrow 5-4 majority.
We cannot afford to give another opponent of the Second Amendment a lifetime appointment to our nation's highest court.
I would greatly appreciate it if you would inform me of how you plan to
vote on this critical nomination.
Sincerely,
David Landriscina
Good News for Californians:
THE 2010 LEGISLATIVE SESSION CLOSED WITH A CLEAN SWEEP WITH OUR NRA TEAM DEFEATING ALL OF THE ANTI-GUN BILLS!!!!
AB1810 Long Gun Registration died on the INACTIVE file on the Senate floor.
AB 2358 (AB962 expansion) FAILED the final vote on the Senate Floor today 20Yes. - 17 No.
SB250dog bill failed the final Assembly floor vote 27 yes 39 no
THANK YOU ALL FOR YOUR EFFORTS IN DEFEATING THESE THREATS TO OUR FREEDOMS!
This could not have occurred without all of us working together in a focused effort. I realize that some people tried to distract us from our defense of the Second Amendment by spreading false stories regarding our efforts in defeating these bills. But I also realize that we chose to stand together and ignore the lies, rumors, and innuendo, so that we could win in the end.
Thank you again.
Paul

Governor Schwarzenegger Signs Important Pro-Hunting Bill On Wednesday, September 29, Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger (R) signed Senate Bill 1179 into law.
SB1179, introduced by State Senator Dennis Hollingsworth (R-36), will require the Department of Fish and Game to establish two free hunting days per year where unlicensed hunters can hunt so long as they are accompanied by someone who is licensed. This legislation promises to help recruit the next generation of hunters by allowing novices to try their hand at hunting without being required to purchase a license.
Thank you to all of the NRA members who answered the call in support of SB1179. Without you, this victory would not have been possible.
