Robert L. Dawson landed on the beaches of Normandy on D-Day--a member of the medical detachment 354th infantry regiment 89th division(Nicknamed: The rolling W)--fought their way across France to the Rhineland where they liberated a death camp. Medals: European African Middle Eastern Campaign; Good Conduct Medal and two Bronze Stars.
